As you know, Riot is investing in the Arcane series streaming on Netflix. This series is based on the stories of champions in League of Legends. The first part of the series will tell the life story of Vi and Jinx and the events occurring in the two cities of Zaun and Piltover. In addition to the sister duo Vi and Jinx, the film also features some familiar names like Jayce, Caitlyn, and Viktor.
And yesterday, October 19 (Vietnam time), Riot released 2 skins for the champions Jayce and Vi based on this movie. Along with that, the skin awarded to players ranked Gold and above at the end of the season – Blitzcrank Vinh Quang was teased before the official start of the 2021 World Championship.

However, a portion of the fans are quite dissatisfied because aside from Jayce, Vi’s skin is almost unchanged from her default skin. Aside from the hairstyle and an older outfit, and a younger-looking face compared to the default Vi, everything else is nearly identical. Not to mention, Riot has only released 2 skins while the Arcane series has 3 more characters, Jinx, Caitlyn, and Viktor, which are nowhere to be seen, causing the online community to continuously inquire about the remaining skins.
However, there is an unconfirmed rumor that the Arcane skins will be free, but certainly, like the previous Unbound Thresh, players will only be able to obtain these skins through certain missions. Whatever the case, it can be seen that Riot is quite invested in the Arcane series right now, and in some aspects, this can be viewed as Riot investing in the lore of its champions or “teasing” future champion reworks.
