As expected, the new Galaxy S21 product line launched by Samsung yesterday no longer comes with a charger in the box. Each Galaxy S21 will be equipped with a C-to-C cable (two USB-C ends), while which charger to use is up to your decision.
To appease consumers, Samsung announced it will reduce the price of the 25W charger from $35 to $20. Additionally, a noteworthy point is that the company’s flagship smartphone line this year starts at $800, instead of $1,000 like the Galaxy S20 last year.

If you find Samsung’s course of action seems “familiar”, that’s exactly what Apple did. Last year, “the Apple Company” stopped including chargers with new Apple Watch models, the iPhone 12 product line, and even other iPhone models still sold on the market. The reason given was to fulfill their commitment to reduce carbon emissions in production, protect the environment, and also cut shipping costs.
At that time, Apple’s competitors like Samsung and Xiaomi simultaneously posted mocking articles. For example, Samsung immediately shared an image of a charger with the caption “Include with your Galaxy phone” and content: “Your #Galaxy brings what you’re looking for. From the most basic things like a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory, and even a 120Hz display, all in one smartphone“. And earlier this month, it was discovered that the South Korean electronics company quietly deleted this post.
