Mr. Truong Quang Viet, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, confirmed that the male student from Chi Linh, 20 years old, is an F1 contact of a patient in Hai Duong. The student is studying foreign languages in Hanoi and is renting a room on Nguyen Khanh Toan Street, Cau Giay District.
On January 27, the student exhibited symptoms of cough, fever, and sore throat, and after visiting Bach Mai Hospital, was tested and received a positive result for SARS-CoV-2 on January 28, 2021, conducted by Bach Mai Hospital.
Immediately on the evening of January 28, authorities sealed off the alley leading to the patient’s home. Many residents are worried and confused, believing they will not be allowed to go outside.

During an online meeting on the afternoon of January 28, the Minister of Health also emphasized that Bach Mai Hospital had urgently reported a case from Hai Duong who came for examination and rented a room in Cau Giay District.
At the Hanoi City Covid-19 prevention meeting on the same day, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung stated that there is one case in Hanoi related to the Hai Duong patient who came to examine at Bach Mai Hospital and then rented a house in Cau Giay District.
“The Ministry of Health has informed CDC Hanoi. Hanoi is at high risk, raising the alert to red,” Mr. Dung said.
