Every October, Western game developers often create events related to Halloween. Call of Duty: Warzone is no exception, as Activision has introduced a series of character skins and a new game mode with a slightly “dark” theme for this title through an event called The Haunting.

The highlight of this event is that Activision brings a series of skins based on famous characters from classic horror films. Notably, the character Ghostface from the iconic Scream series. This has made fans of this FPS title extremely excited about this version.

However, this event cannot deny the fact that Call of Duty: Warzone has been and is currently under attack by many hackers and cheaters. Not stopping at conventional cheating methods like aimbots and wallhacks, hackers have now taken it to a new level by accessing unreleased content of this game. Specifically, these hackers have been able to use character skins like Frank from the movie Donnie Darko or an unnamed skeleton.

We should remember that Activision’s event won’t take place until November 20. However, the aforementioned skins have already been leaked for several days. This has caused players committed to Call of Duty: Warzone to sigh in disappointment with Activision’s anti-cheat measures. It’s truly ironic that a company known for blockbuster games like Activision is powerless against cheating and allows hackers to attack many of its games.
Perhaps with these not-so-promising signs, the upcoming event for Call of Duty: Warzone will once again become a disappointment for gamers.
