Edith Riddle, 34, living in Jacksonville, USA, went to DuPont Middle School earlier this month after hearing her daughter had a conflict with a school friend.
According to reports, she also brought along a man and a tall student from another school to intimidate the victim. The trio, along with Riddle’s daughter, proceeded to the school cafeteria and assaulted a 12-year-old female student.
Riddle reportedly ‘punched the victim in the head repeatedly – while wearing boxing gloves – until school security arrived and pulled her away.
The footage of the attack, recorded on a mobile phone, shows a young student lying on the ground being assaulted by Riddle and her group. According to reports, Riddle told the school that the gloves were stuck to her hands with glue, stating that she just wanted to use her bare hands to… “resolve” the issue.
Subsequently, Edith Riddle was immediately arrested and charged with child abuse with a weapon, while the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
It is reported that the victim’s family was extremely outraged not only with Edith Riddle but also with the school’s security management.
“How could two strange adults wander around the schoolyard without the security knowing? I think the school is just as much at fault as Riddle,” said Crystal Wiltsee, the victim’s mother.
