Recently, Xiaomi’s official fanpage posted two images comparing a soon-to-be-released smartphone from the company with a smartphone believed to be the iPhone SE 2020. Some netizens quickly recognized this as a ‘roast’ of Apple by Xiaomi, as the company mocked the newly launched iPhone from the tech giant.

The post by Xiaomi on the verified fanpage has received 2,100 shares.
In the first image, Xiaomi clearly hints that the design of the new iPhone SE is outdated. Apple’s current cheapest product resembles the iPhone 8, which was released back in 2017, featuring a 16:9 screen ratio, thick top and bottom bezels, and lacking a ‘notch’ camera setup. The device is equipped with a traditional Home button that incorporates Touch ID fingerprint recognition.

According to Xiaomi’s ‘hint’, with a smartphone released in 2020, the design of the iPhone SE 2020 cannot compare with the upcoming models from this company, which feature thinner bezels, larger screens, and a waterdrop display design.
Moving to the second image, Xiaomi continues to “roast” the battery life of the iPhone SE 2020, while implicitly asserting that the upcoming smartphone from the company will have a higher battery capacity and longer usage time.

Although Apple has not officially disclosed the battery specifications of the iPhone SE 2020, tech enthusiasts have discovered that this new iPhone model is only equipped with a battery capacity of 1821mAh, the same as the iPhone 8. According to comments from some netizens under the post, it is hard to accept that a smartphone released in 2020 has such a low battery capacity, as most Android smartphones now come with battery capacities ranging from 3500 to 4000 mAh, or even 5000 mAh.
Finally, Xiaomi’s status also emphasized that the price of the upcoming smartphone will be cheaper than the iPhone SE 2020 but will offer more valuable features for users.

Previously, netizens in China also had quite negative reactions to the launch of the iPhone SE 2020 in the most populous country in the world.
Some internet users in this country claimed that this is the “highest quality and most accurate copy” in Apple’s history. Some even sarcastically remarked: “Tim Cook, does your company still hire copycats? I could sketch this product draft with my feet, and I would still get half the salary.”
Others asserted that Apple is the only company bold enough to “deal with leftover stock” – the surplus components of old iPhones – by creating this new product.
However, some people also believe that the small-screen iPhone still has a place in the market and is loved by many. Because at a lower price, it serves as an upgraded configuration version for those who are still attached to the iPhone 6, iPhone 7, or iPhone 8.
