Remember back 17 – 18 years ago, when online gaming began to penetrate the market? The generation of gamers from the 80s at that time was still very young. The “kindergarten” of the 90s was at most in grade 9, meaning those who were born in 1990. That generation created one of the most “heroic” groups of gamers in the Vietnamese gaming community, witnessing many changes and developments in the market.

That generation also got to witness and experience firsthand the landmarks of the Vietnamese gaming industry from the very first days. Games like MU Online and later Võ Lâm Truyền Kỳ, along with a series of blockbuster titles that followed, were nearly fully experienced by the 80s and 90s generation. Back then, Vietnamese gamers didn’t have “hundreds of millions” PCs like today, nor did many own flat IPS screens up to 27 – 32 inches.

Most people only played Võ Lâm Truyền Kỳ on chunky 14″ CRT screens or at best, 17″ ones. But back then, it was truly enjoyable to join friends in Tống – Kim battles and to attend intimate offline gatherings with close friends.

Now, looking back at these images, gamers are startled to realize that we had a truly radiant and fiery youth. We lived, loved, grew up, and aged alongside legendary games. Now, the gamers from the 80s and 90s have grown older, but the memories will always remain young, just like our youth back then.
