Since its launch in 2009, Minecraft has become one of the most popular games in the world, boasting a massive fan base. Despite not having stunning graphics, its fun gameplay and emphasis on player creativity are what make this blockbuster stand out. As of now, the monthly player count for Minecraft exceeds 100 million. The game has not only released various versions and spin-offs but also inspired endless creativity among gamers to recreate it in a “real-life” version.

Recently, Kami, an avid Minecraft player from Japan, came up with the idea of bringing the game into “real life” through original square blocks from the game and adding Lego character models. Initially, Hebac’s idea did not attract much attention, as the design alone was time-consuming and troublesome for many. However, this determined gamer persevered in turning the idea into reality, resulting in a product that left many in awe.

According to Kami, the blocks he designed were made from a special and familiar material: paper, instead of plastic blocks as many might assume. In the style and detail of Minecraft, Kami created a large number of handcrafted paper building blocks that can perfectly recreate the pixelated world in the game by stacking them layer by layer. The gamer generously shared the entire production process on his personal account, sparking lively discussions within the Minecraft community.

It is known that Kami designed grass, stone, bricks, and other materials, then printed them into flat images, and transformed the flat sheets of paper into cubes with his skillful hands. Notably, this gamer cleverly embedded small magnets inside the blocks, ensuring that the paper blocks remained stable when stacked. Alongside the blocks, even details such as torches and spider webs were depicted with exquisite precision. The only drawback is that paper is relatively fragile compared to other materials and is highly susceptible to fire!
