In the past two years, Vietnamese gamers have faced a tough time as VGA prices skyrocketed. This was partly due to a global shortage of raw materials caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and partly due to the unpredictable fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market, where the demand for mining rigs surged, causing graphics card prices to reach new heights. At one point, top-tier VGAs like the RTX 3090 and 3070 were priced at tens of millions of VND… making them a dream for every Vietnamese gamer wanting to build a gaming rig.
However, those turbulent days seem to be over, as forums have become lively again with posts about “VGA markets” where gamers can exchange and seize the opportunity to get a graphics card after months of… patience.

According to a recent report by PCGamer, the computer component market, especially graphics cards, has shown positive changes. PCGamer reported that many manufacturing plants are operating at full capacity again, so the number of graphics card shipments entering the market is rapidly increasing. Specifically, compared to 2021, the number of newly produced graphics cards in 2022 is expected to increase by 30%. This number will certainly stabilize the prices of these products after a long period of price surges.
However, the price reductions are not uniform, as the production capacity and business strategies of each manufacturer vary. For instance, a brand new Galax RTX 3070 full box (powerful enough to handle almost all current games) has dropped significantly, surprising the gaming community.

Looking at other VGA models on the market, there are generally signs of stabilization: No more “sold out” phenomena or “buy beer with peanuts” requests when needing to buy a whole computer to get a VGA… but a significant drop like the Galax RTX 3070 is very rare.
The name Galax is quite familiar in the gaming community, known for its high-quality graphics cards, especially the renowned Hall of Fame series, or the series of VGA with unique colors like white and pink.

Checking with retail stores like BảoLongPC, KCC Shop, or on PC component groups… a Galax GeForce RTX 3070 is now priced at just over 11 million VND, while the RTX 3080 is around 17.5 million VND – an unprecedented level during the two years of price surges.

The value of a graphics card is determined by its price / performance ratio. With the amount of money spent, users always hope to meet their work and entertainment needs to the fullest. Perhaps the dreams of gamers are coming true as the prices are incredibly attractive, and this is a practical move from the VGA manufacturers to meet the long-standing desires and experiences of the true value of the RTX 3000 series for consumers.
