According to the latest information from representatives of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Vietnam, the issue on the Asia Pacific Gateway (APG) submarine cable has been repaired and is now back to normal operation.

It is known that at the end of May, the international submarine cable Asia Pacific Gateway – APG encountered issues on segment S1.7, causing a complete loss of Internet connection capacity from Vietnam to international destinations. Combined with issues on two other cables, AAG and AAE-1, it can be said that Vietnamese gamers in particular and the online community in general have faced a very difficult time using Internet services.
With the APG outage, major telecom providers in Vietnam proactively redirected traffic to other cable routes. However, this was only a temporary solution and could not restore international Internet speed in Vietnam to normal levels.
APG is one of the largest capacity submarine cables currently operating in Asia, with a bandwidth of up to 54 Tbps. This cable has been in operation since December 2016. APG has much higher bandwidth compared to the AAG submarine cable and will help solve the continuous cable breakage issues of AAG.
Thus, with the return of APG alongside a series of other important cables like AAG and AAE-1, the Internet connection from Vietnam to international destinations has returned to normal. Now, gamers can comfortably play and download games on international platforms like Steam and Epic Games Store.
