As expected, yesterday, Garena updated Free Fire to version OB21 on the Vietnam server. This update includes a lot of new content, similar to previous updates, notably featuring the character Kapella, a K-pop singer. Kapella’s ability is to heal, increasing the healing item effect by 10/12/14/16/18/20%, and her healing skill by 10%. It reduces the bleeding rate of allies when downed by 20/22/24/26/28/30%. The effect does not stack.

However, this update has faced severe backlash from players due to the numerous bugs that arose post-update. One noted issue is that Free Fire OB21 forces players to repeatedly download resource packages.

This means that after the update, even though players have updated and downloaded the necessary packages to enter the game, this process continues “endlessly.” This not only affects players’ experience but also consumes players’ storage, especially for those using 4G to update.

The second issue many players faced was freezing on the login screen. Despite completing necessary update steps, players found themselves stuck at the loading status bar. Some luckier players could enter the waiting lobby, but when entering a match, they encountered absurd situations like stuttering and lagging. Some players reported ping levels reaching up to 500 – 600 or even 999.

An amusing bug that many players experienced was entering a match without seeing their character’s avatar, only witnessing weapons floating in mid-air. This phenomenon occurred not only from the character’s perspective but also for opponents, making resolving battles quite challenging. Is it possible that being “invisible” is one of the new features of version OB21 in Free Fire?

Yesterday, Free Fire’s Fanpage also acknowledged connection issues related to players using VNPT networks facing difficulties during the OB21 experience. However, this update has too many serious bugs, and the cases mentioned above are just “a brief overview.” Hopefully, Garena will quickly resolve these issues so players do not feel frustrated in the near future.
