Over time, streamers and YouTubers today have gradually started to form a new habit of creating challenges for themselves as a quick way to attract attention and generate unique content on their channels. For many, these can be ridiculous and hard-to-bear challenges, but for most streamers, the majority focus on pushing their personal limits. A prime example is the story of Beck, the YouTuber below, who surprised many by deciding to lock himself in his room until he reached the Challenger rank in League of Legends.

In his latest video, Beck surprised many fans by deciding to stay locked in his room for 12 days, and he was determined not to leave his livestream room until he reached 1000 Challenger points. It’s understandable since he is relatively new and doesn’t have a large following; it makes sense for Beck to set this challenge to “pull in” more attention. However, a recent situation occurred that might change his perspective.

Specifically, while sitting on the floor enjoying fast food that had just been delivered, Beck unexpectedly received a phone call from his mother. It turned out she had been watching her son’s livestream, and unable to hold back her feelings, she decided to call. Through the speakerphone, viewers could clearly hear Beck’s mother’s concern in a voice that sounded like she was about to cry: “Why do you have to eat so pitifully, my poor son“. Indeed, although the meal was somewhat decent with pork and soup, seeing how the YouTuber was eating, many people felt sympathy, not to mention Beck’s mother was probably even more heartbroken.

However, contrary to what many people might expect, Beck’s mother did not demand that he do anything; instead, she continued to encourage him to quickly complete the task and end this “self-torture”. Beck himself didn’t know if he was moved by her words of concern, but he realized that by the 15th day, he still couldn’t complete the challenge and decided to cancel it, officially stepping out of his room to end his self-imposed confinement.
