Dropping an iPhone into a toilet and flushing it, not many would think that this item would still be useful after being retrieved. In fact, aside from lamenting the value of the phone, many would likely have a headache over the prospect of clogged sewage pipes and their septic tank. However, neither of these scenarios occurred for Becki Beckmann, a woman who is stirring up social media with the story of her lost iPhone.
According to Becki, 10 years ago, on Halloween 2012, she was extremely sad after losing her phone for reasons she could not recall, and despite searching all over the house, she could not find it. While she considered its disappearance a mystery, as echoed in her personal post, Becki eventually had to buy a new phone. However, this mystery was solved 10 years later. Everything began when Becki and her husband heard banging noises after flushing the toilet.

“Initially, we blamed it on the old toilet or the poor construction of the house,” Becki shared. But then, unable to bear it any longer, she and her husband had to find a way to “clear” the drain to understand the problem and resolve the issue. But what a surprise, at the moment of action, her husband unexpectedly found an iPhone deep in the toilet’s plumbing. And it was nothing else but Becki’s mysteriously lost iPhone from years ago.

Even more surprising is that after 10 years, despite having lived a somewhat “smelly” and dirty life, the iPhone still maintained its basic structure, even though the back cover had come off after countless flushes by users. However, the sad part is that while its appearance was still decent, its functionality was nearly gone as it wasn’t until the iPhone 7 that Apple introduced waterproof features. Becki had only used an iPhone 4 at that time.
However, the story has also raised numerous questions from the online community regarding its authenticity. Among them, the most frequently asked question is whether her plumbing has been working fine for the past 10 years and only just now made a noise.
