Free Fire and PUBG Mobile are two of the Esports titles that will be featured in the upcoming SEA Games 31. These are also the events that Vietnam hopes to win gold medals in during this Southeast Asian Sports Festival taking place at home. Therefore, it is understandable why both games have garnered the attention of the gaming community as well as sponsors.

According to information circulated by the community in the past few hours, the PUBG Mobile team will receive sponsorship from the Samsung brand. According to shared images, “Samsung Galaxy A Series is honored to be the official sponsor for PUBG Mobile at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) in 2022.” Currently, it is unclear which device in the Samsung Galaxy A series will be the official device for the upcoming SEA Games.

On the Free Fire side, the ROG Phone 5s, the latest smartphone from ASUS, will officially serve Free Fire at Yomost VFL Spring 2022 and SEA Games 31. This has surprised the gaming community as the ROG Phone 5s is regarded as one of the most powerful gaming phones currently on the market.

The fact that Free Fire, a game that does not require high-end hardware, will be using the ROG Phone 5s is seen as “killing chickens with a cow’s knife.” Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile is considered to have relatively “heavy” graphics, causing concern within the gaming community.

One gamer commented, “It’s highly likely to be the A53. Looking at Samsung’s marketing campaign, it’s clear they are promoting the gaming capabilities of the A53, so it’s likely that the sponsorship for the gaming tournament will be the A53.” Hopefully, whether it’s the ROG Phone 5s or Samsung Galaxy A, no matter how much, Free Fire and PUBG Mobile will still bring home gold medals for Vietnamese esports at this SEA Games.
