Pewdiepie is a name that is no stranger to all of us; however, this world-famous YouTuber has also become one of the most controversial figures. The number of people who love Pewdiepie is certainly not small, but many others hate and criticize him as well. Recently, that list has expanded to include BTS fans, especially after Pewdiepie called them “the craziest people in the world.”

Specifically, in a video posted on January 11, Pewdiepie spontaneously reacted to a video about Oil London – a British guy and a huge fan of BTS (the most popular K-pop group at the moment). In reality, the story would have ended there without any issues, but once the YouTuber, who currently has over 100 million followers, made his remarks, everyone knew a storm was coming. Pewdiepie candidly stated: “You know, I won’t lie. I like Kpop too, but I definitely want to say there should be limits to everything“.

Not stopping there, he further elaborated on his point: “Yes, all the issues stem from the fact that these are market products. Not to mention, they all have cosmetic surgery in South Korea. Idol companies create idols like this just like making treadmill machines. Sometimes, I wonder what BTS fans think about these guys. Because they are the craziest people on the planet“.
After that, Pewdiepie seemed to realize that he had gone a bit too far and angered a group that “shouldn’t be touched,” so the Swedish YouTuber quickly softened his words and tried to mitigate: “Of course, to be fair, not all BTS fans are crazy, just a part of them“.

However, words once spoken are like water spilled, and what Pewdiepie said immediately angered BTS fans. The YouTuber himself has since faced a wave of anger, criticism, and strong attacks from the BTS fan community in particular and Kpop fans in general. To the extent that the online community in South Korea is even calling for a boycott and reporting Pewdiepie’s channel, it’s clear that this time the Swedish YouTuber has stirred up quite a hornet’s nest. However, there is also a segment of fans who agree with Pewdiepie’s views, stating that his comments were very candid, especially since Pewdiepie previously identified himself as a fan of BTS.
