If you’re still gaming under the “supervision” of your parents and not having the necessary freedom to battle with friends around the globe whenever you have free time, then you might want to check out my case.
I also faced this issue for many years, but gradually I realized many things and decided to have a talk with my parents to address this tricky problem. The result is that I can now game whenever I want, but of course, I had to trade off a few things.

I noticed that when my parents complained about my gaming, it was because they were afraid that gaming would affect my studies as well as my health. So for my parents, those two things are what I need to ensure if I want to game. Personally, I’m not an outstanding student; I’m the type of student that teachers don’t pay much attention to, and my grades aren’t remarkable.
So going to school, I don’t get complaints from teachers, but for my parents, that’s not enough, especially since my sister is an excellent student, which adds pressure on me. Regarding health, I do play sports, but at that time, I didn’t have a weekly plan for it, so my parents were a bit worried. I would come home from school and game, and only occasionally on weekends would I play sports or play at school, which my parents didn’t know about.

So at this point, I had to reassess my abilities and see how well I was doing in school. After looking at my report card, I realized I could put in more effort into my study subjects, while for subjects like Chemistry and Physics, well, I’m sure some of you understand. After that, I gathered a few friends in class to organize weekly soccer matches with another class, which was quite simple because everyone was free and passionate about it. Then, I decided to talk to my parents, set academic goals, let them know my sports plan, and in return, I would get the freedom to schedule my gaming time.

Of course, because of my promising “presentation”, my parents agreed. That year, I managed to achieve slightly better academic results, just enough to “win the bet”. Even though I sometimes had to study hard, because I wanted to improve my grades, I had to study from beginning to end, which wasn’t easy for a lazy student like me. As for sports, it was even better; I enjoyed it and it put my parents’ minds at ease, so it was not an issue.
Overall, I see that as long as you understand what your parents prioritize and meet those priorities, you’ll be able to enjoy your entertainment anytime. For me, it’s studying and health, and I think that applies to most of you as well. So if possible, make a pact with your parents, meet their requirements, and live a free life, my friends.
