Do you still remember legendary names like Cloud Garden, Happy Restaurant, Dragon Island, Street Market,…? When you hear those names, do you feel nostalgic? If so, then you are just like me, suddenly reminiscing so much, my friends!

Do you remember about 10 years ago, what was the most used social network among Vietnamese people? It wasn’t Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram, but Zing Me – a social network for Vietnamese people, focused on games.
Back then, my friends and I didn’t know how to take selfies or check in like we do now. We would just jump into Zing Me to “raise fish”, “grow vegetables”, “raise pigs”, “train dragons”… On happy days, we would go “up in the clouds”, when feeling restless, we would go “shooting chickens”, and when the entrepreneurial spirit hit, we would push carts to “sell goods”, and when we wanted to be a bit fancier, we’d open a “restaurant”.

There it is, my school years passed peacefully with memories tied to Zing Me games. Of course, a lively kid like me didn’t just play those games; I also played Crossfire, Legend of the Condor Heroes, Sword of the New World, World of Tanks… However, the most peaceful relaxing moments for me back then were immersing myself in those simple, gentle games on Zing Me.

To be fair, the games on Zing weren’t exactly that great, and the graphics weren’t beautiful either. But the value of those games didn’t just lie in the games themselves but also in how players interacted with each other. Built on the foundation of a community, gamers didn’t just play games; they used games to play together. They created unforgettable memories together.
Although later on, it couldn’t compete with Facebook and faded into the past. However, for those who experienced the golden age of Zing Me, those games will forever live on in their beautiful youthful memories.
