Faking a game publisher to strike copyright and penalize YouTube channels featuring content from this game – an action that perhaps no one could have imagined – has surprisingly occurred concerning the game Destiny 2. The main character in this story is YouTuber Nicholas Minor, more widely known by his nickname Lord Nazo – who is also a well-known gamer of the game.

Specifically, everything began when during a video upload, Nazo unexpectedly received a copyright “strike” from CSC Global – the entity representing and protecting the brand for Bungie – the company behind the game Destiny 2. The reason stemmed from Nazo’s lack of caution, as he accidentally included a portion of the game’s background music in his videos.
With the mindset of an average person, most would see this as a lesson and draw profound experiences for themselves. However, Nazo is a completely different case. Whether out of bitterness or for some other purpose, Nazo decided to impersonate CSC Global and Bungie to seek out and copyright strike other YouTubers who also created content about Destiny 2.

In the time that followed, Nazo struck copyright on 96 videos of other YouTubers also creating content about Destiny, causing serious damage. Notably, Bungie was almost entirely unaware of these actions until they received a multitude of criticisms, complaints, and strong reactions from the online community regarding actions not taken by them. In those discussion groups, Nazo continued to participate very actively, considering himself a victim as well.

After thoroughly investigating the truth of the matter, Bungie has decided to sue the crafty YouTuber, with total compensation amounting to $150,000 for each video. With 96 videos impacted by Nazo, the total fine could reach a staggering $7.65 million (approximately nearly 200 billion VND), not including legal fees. In the lawsuit, Bungie accused Nazo of impersonation to sow discord among the community, gamers, and even streamers and fans of Destiny 2. Additionally, the YouTuber was also accused of using fake emails to threaten and harass CSC Global.

It seems that with this strong move from the publisher of Destiny 2, the YouTuber must now be feeling very regretful about his actions.
