Apple’s recent design ideas for the Mac Pro seem quite bizarre – they incorporate everyday objects into their product design. For instance, in 2013, Apple unveiled a Mac Pro that looked just like a futuristic garbage can. Then in 2019, their Mac Pro had a tower design, with a front that looked no different from a cheese grater.

But has anyone actually tried to use this Mac Pro to grate cheese? Can a $6000 “cheese grater” perform better than a regular grater that costs just over $4 at the supermarket?
Fortunately, we don’t need to buy a Mac Pro just to test this, as iFixit – a name well-known in the tech community for disassembling gadgets – tried… grating cheese with the Mac Pro during a livestream.
And the result is: the Mac Pro is very poor when judged as a cheese grater. It’s too expensive, while it doesn’t do the job well – the cheese gets stuck and clumps in the holes, instead of being grated thin and falling below.
So in conclusion, don’t be foolish enough to use the new Mac Pro as a cheese grater. There are many other tasks that this machine excels at, like video editing and production.
