Recently, ViruSs’ name has been mentioned more frequently, especially with his reaction videos to famous MVs in the Vietnamese showbiz. Most of his reactions have received high praise from the online community, even catching the attention of international media. However, just recently, ViruSs’ reaction to Hoài Lâm’s new MV has sparked considerable controversy.
Although he praised Hoài Lâm for both his singing voice and performance style, ViruSs also shared many personal opinions about the song, stating: “What I regret the most is that I don’t know how long this song has been in the works, but while the arrangement is nice, it feels outdated. If I had the chance to rearrange this song, I think I could make it more relevant to today’s music. And if the song were arranged in a newer style while still maintaining its sadness, it might work better. This song is well performed and helps Hoài Lâm shine, which I acknowledge, but the arrangement feels wasted; it could have been better.”
Notably, after this, composer Nguyễn Minh Cường, who wrote the song “Hoa Nở Không Màu” performed by Hoài Lâm, shared his first thoughts after watching ViruSs’ reaction.
He expressed that he respects the comments from the streamer and emphasized that ViruSs’ reaction was meant to provide constructive feedback, not to harm anyone. Additionally, he noted that music always has its own colors and, above all, must align with the performing artist.
