According to technology site MacRumors, the 5W iPhone chargers, which were commonly included in the boxes of iPhone models until 2019, are gradually running out at many Apple Store locations worldwide.

This familiar accessory is now reported to be out of stock on Apple’s official website in countries like Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, China, and Japan. Meanwhile, it is still available in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, the UK, and a few other countries.
The 5W USB charger from Apple has been an essential accessory in the box of almost all iPhone models from the iPhone 2G to the iPhone 11. Additionally, it was also included with Apple Watch models up until the Series 5.
However, in 2020, with the launch of the iPhone 12 Series and Apple Watch Series 6, Apple decided to eliminate this charger as a bundled accessory for environmental reasons. However, if users want to purchase it, Apple still sells it.

On its sales website, Apple describes its 5W charger as follows: “With a super compact design, this charger provides quick, efficient charging at home, in the office, or on the go. It works with any iPhone, iPad mini, or iPod model.”
Also in 2020, the company introduced the new 20W USB Type C fast charger that can quickly charge iPhones, Apple Watches, and even iPads. This new accessory also supports the HomePod smart speaker and MagSafe chargers. Apple is currently selling the 20W USB Type C charger for $19, the same price as the 5W charger.
According to information from several suppliers, Apple currently has no plans to continue producing the old 5W charger. Therefore, it may only be a matter of time before this product disappears from Apple Store locations worldwide.
