Yesterday, netizens were abuzz when a photo surfaced that was said to be a behind-the-scenes moment of the “flirty” hot girl Trần Thanh Tâm. In stark contrast to her usual cute appearance, Tâm looked quite chubby in the picture, and her face seemed somewhat swollen.
The photo of Thanh Tâm has been causing a storm for the past 2 days.
When contacted, Trần Thanh Tâm stated that every girl edits their photos, but that behind-the-scenes shot was particularly unflattering due to the photographer’s choice of a bad angle combined with poor lighting conditions. Additionally, she pointed out that girls nowadays use apps to touch up their images a bit, while that particular photo was entirely raw, making it hard to please everyone’s taste.
To prove her point, Thanh Tâm even filmed a video responding to some questions that netizens have been curious about.

Thanh Tâm answered several questions raised as follows:
What do you think about the negative comments on your “ugly” behind-the-scenes photo?
That photo was taken at a bad angle and without any prior preparation. The lighting, image quality, resolution, and many other factors were not polished. Not just me, but all girls choose the best angles and try to look their best when posting pictures.
Do you often use apps when taking pictures and filming videos?
Normally, I don’t use apps while taking pictures; I use the regular camera first and then edit it to make the image as radiant as possible.
What do you think about the viewpoint that women choose beauty through filters?
I feel that it’s very normal for girls nowadays to use apps for photography. Since we invest quite a bit in makeup, why should we post an unrefined photo on our personal pages?
How confident are you in your real-life appearance and what percentage do you use filters?
I don’t think I’m beautiful; I just feel I’m somewhat cute. But I’m definitely 80% confident that my online photos reflect my real-life appearance.
Thank you, Tâm, for sharing these insights!
