In the photo, Thanh Tâm looks quite different from her self-posted images on social media. Therefore, many have commented that she is living an illusion and excessively using photo editing apps.
In contact with Thanh Tâm, she stated: “Actually, the photos online are because many people dislike me, so they edited my face to look bigger, but normally it’s not that big! And even if it is, it’s okay, a bigger face means I won’t have to spend money on bowls to eat dessert.”
In response to the criticism, Thanh Tâm shared that she is not upset as she is used to being posted in unflattering ways. “Because it’s rare for an unflattering photo to turn out well; who isn’t ugly when caught in an unflattering shot? I’ve gotten used to it. And when reading the comments, even if they criticize me, I still feel very happy because there are still many people who care about me. The time you spend on me means you care, so why would I be sad when so many people are interested?”

So, “if using an app to make my image more beautiful, radiant, and confident, then why not use it?” However, she emphasized that she is still very confident when going bare-faced or taking photos with a regular camera.
