Earlier in December, Ms. K.P (living in Dong Thap) decided to purchase an authentic iPhone 12 Pro Max from the retail system D.D.V for nearly 33 million VND. Since this retail system does not have a branch in her area, Ms. K.P opted for home delivery. D.D.V partnered with two units, B.M (warehouse management) and B.E (transportation), to deliver the device to customers.
A few days later, the device was delivered to Ms. K.P’s address. According to Ms. K.P’s account, the delivery person did not call ahead but simply left the package without co-signing for receipt. When she opened the box, Ms. K.P was shocked to find no iPhone, only a rock inside the box.

When contacting the seller, the retail system D.D.V sent a video of the package being prepared and co-signed during the packaging process at the post office, thus Ms. K.P concluded that her iPhone was swapped during transportation. Ms. K.P stated that she contacted B.E, but received no support due to the lack of an unboxing video.

In response, a representative from D.D.V stated that they proactively assisted in providing the customer with another device. However, the incident is not over yet, and this system will collaborate with the customer to clarify the matter further.
“With delivery services operating like this, do you still have customers? How can your customers, the users, dare to shop online? How can businesses dare to sell online?”, expressed the owner of this store in a social media post.
From the consumer’s perspective, after this incident, users should develop the habit of recording unboxing videos for products purchased online, especially for high-value items. Having an unboxing video will greatly assist users if they unfortunately fall victim to scams like this one.
