Crossfire Legends is reportedly set to be released again, a piece of information that many gamers of this title have been discussing for the past few days. It is said that this information spread from… TikTok, and quite a few gamers believe that the “former hit of VNG” is about to be released once more. So what is the truth behind this story?

Before seeking the truth of the matter, it is necessary to recall that Crossfire Legends once was a major Esports hit, even more prominent than Arena of Valor at the time in 2017. Back then, VNG created numerous large and small tournaments, fostering a strong community. However, everything seemed to come to an end when VNG could not update this title for over two years.

Along with this were numerous issues such as hacking/cheating and game imbalance that gradually caused players to abandon the game. The reasons for Crossfire Legends’ downfall stemmed from both objective and subjective factors, largely due to VNG not receiving updates from Tencent for many years, along with the attitudes of some players.

However, as of now, many Vietnamese gamers still have affection for Crossfire Legends. There are quite a few gamers still playing the Chinese version, which continues to bring Tencent significant revenue. Recently, rumors have suddenly emerged that Crossfire Legends is about to be re-released in the Vietnamese market, and many gamers suddenly believe this to be true.

However, this is very unlikely to happen and has almost never occurred in the history of online gaming in Vietnam. Moreover, while the community for this game still exists, it has significantly dwindled, making a re-release nearly impossible as trust in the publisher has been lost. Additionally, playing Crossfire Legends again (if it could be released) would mean players would have to invest from scratch, and there is no guarantee that the game would escape the issues of hacking/cheating.

Crossfire Legends differs from the Chinese version in that the operating team still has to rely on the development team to “address hacks” rather than handling it directly as in the local version. Therefore, the information about Crossfire Legends re-releasing should only be taken as entertainment, and players should not have high hopes, as the likelihood of this happening is very low, if not impossible.
