Phimmoi.net is the most famous illegal movie streaming website in Vietnam, providing a huge library of pirated films, which has continuously faced copyright strikes, being reported so many times that it has “vanished”. However, this website remains “resilient” as it continuously changes its domain by adding new characters to resume operations.

This illegal movie streaming site keeps adding letters to its name to “revive” itself.
On August 19, the Investigation Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City announced that they are investigating a case of copyright infringement according to the decision to initiate a criminal case related to the website: www.phimmoi.net, occurring in Ho Chi Minh City. Phimmoi.net has exploited, reproduced, used, screened, and communicated cinematic works to the public without permission from the rights holders and has illegally advertised products and services based on copyrighted films, aiming to gain significant illicit profits.
Having “vanished” for over a month, the online community is once again abuzz with news that phimmoi.net has returned with a new domain called “iphimmoi.net”. This website has an interface and film categorization identical to the old site, along with the name Phimmoi.net, prompting many to exclaim it truly is the “king of resilience”.
Currently, it is unclear whether this website is indeed phimmoi.net or just a film site created to bait clicks and run advertisements, but it has certainly caused a significant stir in the online community.
Where there are viewers, there will be those who open the supply-demand rule, so Vietnamese internet users should have a more accurate and respectful view towards enjoying art, especially films.

There are numerous websites and applications offering low-cost licensed films.
It is we, the users consuming content on the internet every day, who are the strongest weapon to eliminate websites like phimmoi.net, because only when demand ceases will these platforms truly run out of ground to stand on. Let’s respect copyright, pay for movies, and say no to violations.
With the act of exploiting, reproducing, using, screening, and communicating cinematic works to the public without permission from the rights holders and illegally advertising products to gain significant illicit profits, those behind phimmoi.net could be prosecuted for “Copyright Infringement” according to the provisions of Article 225 of the Penal Code, facing penalties of up to 1 billion VND or imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years. Additionally, the offender could face supplementary penalties ranging from 20 to 200 million VND. Furthermore, the individual may be prohibited from holding certain positions, practicing a profession, or working in certain jobs for 1 to 5 years.
