If you are one of the early fans of the Vietnamese YouTube scene, the name JVevermind is likely not unfamiliar to many. Alongside figures like Toàn Shinoda, Huyme, and An Nguy, JV is one of the pioneers who laid the foundation for the development of vlogging and Vietnamese YouTubers with videos that garnered millions of views and sparked discussions among the youth of that time. However, gradually, his video output decreased over time, eventually leading to a complete stop.

However, at the end of 2019, JV made a surprising comeback by shocking everyone when he deleted all his old videos from his channel and introduced a fresh new series called “Sleepless Weekend” in the format of a satirical news program addressing hot societal issues – reminiscent of his earlier style, but now, JV appears more mature and his hosting style is no longer as youthful as before.

And although JVevermind’s recent vlogs still receive massive engagement along with the attention of a dedicated fanbase, they also spark countless controversies. Specifically, in a clip discussing stimulants, JV’s analysis simply presents reasons why young people should not use stimulants based primarily on information available on Vietnamese news websites, rather than providing a detailed explanation of the concept and its harmful effects. This has led to many questions and debates among the audience.
