It must be acknowledged that at this point, PUBG is no longer as popular as it was two years ago. However, with their efforts, Bluehole and PUBG Corp are still trying to deliver new updates to somewhat salvage their image, and the new map Karakin is one of those efforts.

There is no denying that Karakin has brought new highlights and interesting surprises for gamers, but alongside many positive points, based on the reactions from the PUBG gaming community, not everyone is fond of it.
The first issue that gamers have reported is that Karakin suffers from severe lag. Specifically, Bluehole was quite creative in making Karakin with an area of only 2×2, even smaller than Sanhok. However, this has led to the reality of limited space and a crowded environment, resulting in lag as it’s common to have more than a dozen players in one frame. It’s understandable that after every big update of PUBG, the lag issues have not improved much and this will take time to resolve. Additionally, the number of players logging in to experience this new map, which replaces Vikendi, is also overwhelming.

Aside from lag, another factor that has led the PUBG gaming community to criticize Karakin is that the map seems too poor. It is unclear what PUBG Corp and Bluehole intended when creating Karakin with such a lack of resources. Just look at Sanhok, which is also a small 3×3 map, yet the resources and loot here are so abundant that even if you parachute into a remote area, you will still have enough gear to play, leading to an exciting match where encounters happen early and everyone has enough items. But Karakin is the opposite; it’s a smaller map with more fighting, yet players are always in a state of deprivation, and it seems that a 3x scope is the biggest you can find.

Lastly, many positive opinions have been voiced by gamers about this map, as they believe that Karakin is one of the bloodiest maps in PUBG, even surpassing Sanhok. Just as you eliminate one enemy team, another appears, and the fighting never stops. Moreover, players not only have to worry about shooting enemies but also need to be cautious of unexpected missile rains falling from the sky. There are dangers all around, but at the same time, this is considered the most skill-practicing, intense, and interesting map in PUBG at the moment.
