During the online meeting on Covid-19 prevention and control in 5 centrally-run cities on the morning of March 29, the Prime Minister praised the leaders and people of major cities for their significant contributions to disease prevention, especially the serious implementation of Directive 15 such as isolation, social distancing, avoiding large gatherings, halting non-essential services, and timely containment of outbreaks.
The supply of essential goods for the people has been ensured, with reserves 4-5 times higher than normal. Appreciating the strict handling of violations, the Prime Minister cited an example from Hanoi, where an individual was fined 200,000 VND for not wearing a mask in public.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister agreed that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security should coordinate to handle patient 178 for dishonest reporting to serve as a deterrent and educational measure.
Patient 178 is Mrs. H.T.N, residing in Phu Thinh commune, Dai Tu district. On the afternoon of March 27, Mrs. N. took a bus from Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi) back to Dai Tu town and then went straight to the Dai Tu District General Hospital for a check-up due to symptoms of headaches and dizziness.
Initially, Mrs. N. reported that she had only stayed at home and not gone anywhere, and came to the hospital for a check-up due to her headache.
At 8 PM on March 27, Mrs. N. had a fever of 37.6 degrees Celsius and a sore throat. After further detailed questioning, the doctors discovered that this patient had worked at Bach Mai Hospital for the past two months delivering food to various departments.
Immediately, the Dai Tu District General Hospital isolated the patient, disinfected the entire hospital, and quarantined 8 patients sharing the same room and 12 healthcare workers who had direct contact with Mrs. N. in separate rooms for health monitoring to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In addition, the authorities have verified the identities of 14 people who traveled on the same bus as this patient. Currently, 12 people have been contacted, while 2 others have not been reached yet.
The Ministry of Health recommends: We kindly ask all patients, family members of patients, and anyone who has visited Bach Mai Hospital from March 12 to March 27, 2020 to follow these measures:
– Send a text message notifying your full name and home address to the phone number 8889.
– Contact the local disease control center for consultation.
– Perform health declaration on the NCOVI (ncovi.vn) application, or declare online at tokhaiyte.vn, and regularly update your health status to receive advice and assistance.
