No longer the internet phenomenon or the must-watch name on YouTube as she was about two years ago, Mrs. Tan Vlog seems to still be struggling, spinning in circles with her outdated clip-making methods. Not only has her view count dropped significantly, but even some of her loyal fans are beginning to feel disillusioned with her repetitive, uncreative dishes alongside the drama and controversies involving her son from the previous phase. Recently, Mrs. Tan Vlog received quite a few mixed opinions after posting her video featuring the preparation of “Giant Pearl Fried Rice.”

Indeed, just hearing the name of the dish might spark curiosity and questions about this combination that only the most imaginative minds could conceive. When we mention pearls, most people immediately think of bubble tea, hardly anyone envisions mixing this delicacy with a plate of savory fried rice. However, Mrs. Tan Vlog has created this dish herself. Hence, it’s understandable that many people were curious and clicked to see this creative cooking process.

However, looking at the pile of cooking ingredients, viewers couldn’t find anything that could be called pearls, while Mrs. Tan Vlog began her cooking process as usual. Initially, many people hoped that there would be a special highlight related to the pearls mentioned in the video title at the end of the clip. However, after the fried rice was completed, the pearls were nowhere to be seen.

And don’t think that Mrs. Tan Vlog made a mistake. In the video, she explained that it was just a fancy way to name it. Her “pearls” were actually quail eggs, which were added to the fried rice for flavor and compared to “pearls” to create a catchy title.

Therefore, it’s not surprising that the comments under Mrs. Tan Vlog’s clip clearly reflected mixed opinions from the online community. While many praised her for her creativity, on the flip side, there were also plenty of criticisms directed at her for overly sensationalizing the title, attracting attention in not-so-pleasant ways.
