Meeting at Year-End 2020 is perhaps the program that has received a lot of attention from the online community, as almost everyone is curious whether this new product has the ability to replace the Kitchen Gods and become the spiritual dish on every 30th night of the Vietnamese people. However, after its broadcast on the recent 30th night, it seems that Meeting at Year-End only made many people reminisce about their memories of the Kitchen Gods.

Still featuring veteran actors such as Chi Trung, Quoc Khanh, Xuan Bac, Tu Long, Quang Thang, Van Dung, and adding two new faces, artists Xuan Hinh and Thanh Thanh Hien, but the characters Bac Dau, Nam Tao, and Ngoc Hoang are no longer present. Instead, Meeting at Year-End 2020 seems to resemble 1977 Vlog, bringing everything into a literary world with Chi Pheo, Lao Hac, Xuan Toc Do, and the Vu Dai village of the 4.0 era.

Continuing to bring prominent phenomena and events of the year into the performance in a graceful and humorous manner. However, it seems that it still cannot make the audience forget the image of the Kitchen Gods in the past. Many viewers commented that the program felt a bit bland, and the mocking and satirical details were no longer as profound as before. Not to mention, there were some laughs that felt somewhat inappropriate and awkward. Additionally, the mixing of music performances, along with lengthy and tedious advertisements, continues to be one of the highlights that diminish the viewers’ emotions.

It is known that Meeting at Year-End 2020 still has many aspects that do not satisfy the audience, but clearly, with a new format, a fresh approach, and a very humane ending with many meaningful messages can also be considered a plus for the team. It seems that the shadow of the Kitchen Gods has yet to fade in the minds of the online community.
