Crossfire reached Vietnamese gamers in 2008, a time when the online gaming scene in Vietnam was still in the golden age. At that time, numerous publishers were racing to release new online game products, most of which were RPG games centered around martial arts or fantasy. Therefore, Crossfire, along with Speed Team and Heroic Special Forces, created a “triumvirate” of fresh and exciting shooting games.

At that time, the competition among these three titles was extremely fierce. It would not be wrong to say that the product team behind this shooting game established a tripod of this genre in the Vietnamese market. However, after the market events of the period 2009 – 2011, the other two names could not continue to stand firm. Since then, only Crossfire has remained the most prominent name still existing to this day.

Crossfire is one of the “first generation” online games in the Vietnamese gaming scene and, to this day, can be considered a veteran, witnessing many ups and downs in the Vietnamese online gaming market. Despite having gone through many storms, Crossfire has managed to stand firm and remain until now. Twelve years is not a large number, but it is not small when compared to the average lifespan of many other products.

Nowadays, gamers are accustomed to the dazzling and brilliant visuals of Crossfire, but to achieve this, the game itself has gone through hundreds of major and minor updates to attain the grand appearance it has today. Does anyone still remember the images of Crossfire from its early years when it first entered the Vietnamese game market?

Even gamers from the 80s and 90s generation who once had a deep bond with Crossfire can hardly remember what this game looked like. Therefore, when looking back at the early years of Crossfire in 2008, many players will surely feel nostalgic and sentimental, as it represents a treasure trove of memories, a golden age, and their youth.

After 12 years, only Crossfire remains from that triumvirate, having experienced many ups and downs, but to this day, Crossfire is still one of the most successful online shooting games in the Vietnamese market. Launched during the peak development period of the Vietnamese gaming scene, Crossfire is one of the witnesses to many events in the domestic gaming market and is a rare survivor after the crisis of the period 2009–2011.
