As a leading global brand in providing headsets for gamers, HyperX could easily “charge a premium” for its products. However, it is truly surprising that the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is priced at just under 900,000 VND – the cheapest among all products, while still delivering impressive quality.
From our hands-on experience, we were impressed that the audio quality of the Stinger Core is not inferior to the older Stinger (priced at 1.3 million VND). Perhaps HyperX intentionally lowered the price of this product to make it more accessible to gamers.
The soundstage and imaging continue to be the strongest points of the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core; they are expansive, airy, and precise.
For gamers, owning a HyperX headset for intense gaming is incredibly “premium”, perhaps there’s no need to elaborate further. However, for entertainment needs such as listening to music or watching movies, there are also no points to criticize the Stinger Core.
The design of the Stinger Core is similar to the previous version, very lightweight yet extremely durable with flexible plastic (super durable nylon blend) and a stainless steel core.
In this new version, each earphone has its own signal wire, so we no longer see the plastic core hiding the connecting wire between the two headphones as before.
HyperX Stinger Core uses a common 3.5 mm connection jack, compatible with all types of gaming machines, PCs (with Y-splitter jack), or phones… On the connecting wire, there’s an integrated volume control potentiometer and a mic on-off button.
The 7.1 version comes with a USB soundcard which is slightly more expensive but still worth it because it’s hard to find similar products in the same price range.
Lightweight, comfortable to wear even for hours on end. This is also the top advantage of the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core compared to other headsets in the same price range.
The ear cushions, although only covered with fabric instead of leather like the previous version, still provide a good wearing experience. The headset is very lightweight, allowing gamers to use it for long periods without fatigue.
