At the beginning of the new year 2020, Faker became the first honorary guest of the television talk show about Esports – The Dreamer, produced by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). Not only is it a national-level program, but the first episode of The Dreamer also witnessed a touching story about Faker’s character.
Specifically, on the day of filming the program, knowing that Faker would be a guest, a League of Legends player named Dong-pyo attended as an audience member. What’s notable is that the high school student Dong-pyo has a rather unfortunate circumstance, as he is disabled and has to use a wheelchair. To get to the program, Dong-pyo needed his mother’s assistance.
Upon learning this, immediately after the filming session, Faker sought out Dong-pyo and… challenged him to a solo match in League of Legends. There’s no need to say how happy the boy was to be invited by his idol for a gaming session.

In this special solo match, Faker chose the champion Yasuo, while Dong-pyo played Garen. With a friendly spirit of interaction, Faker allowed himself to lose the solo match against the boy, and what moved the fans the most was the reaction from Dong-pyo and his mother.

After winning against his idol, the player celebrated joyfully, while his mother, sitting behind him, couldn’t hold back her tears. Perhaps she had never seen her son express such joy and happiness, considering the many hardships he has faced. Faker truly brought a happy experience to Dong-pyo.

Another noteworthy point is that according to feedback from some Korean fans, on the day of The Dreamer filming, Faker also had a streaming schedule right after. However, he decided to postpone the stream to spend over half an hour playing games with Dong-pyo – a plan that was not even in the script of The Dreamer.

As a result, Faker went live for his stream an hour later than scheduled that day. Of course, for the sake of keeping the content of the program a secret, he did not share the reason for streaming late, but after witnessing this touching story, fans of Faker surely didn’t mind that issue and only grew to love him more.
