Thousands of drones recently performed a unique display in the sky over Shanghai, as game publisher Bilibili used them to form a gigantic QR code. Notably, this QR code was not created just for fun. Instead, users can scan the QR code in the sky with their smartphones to download Princess Connect! Re:Dive – a mobile game released by Bilibili in the Chinese market.

In addition to the QR code, these thousands of drones were also programmed to form various images and messages, such as characters from Princess Connect! Re:Dive, or scenes of characters battling monsters in the game.
It is known that Bilibili organized this drone display to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Princess Connect! Re’s launch in the mainland market. Many players of Princess Connect! Re expressed their admiration for Bilibili’s boldness after watching the display.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Bilibili has used a giant QR code to advertise a game. In fact, the company previously placed a giant QR code next to its building to commemorate the launch of Princess Connect! Re.
As for Princess Connect! Re, this is a mobile game in the RPG genre with gacha elements, supporting both iOS and Android operating systems. The developer of Princess Connect! Re is Cygames, known for popular titles like “Fate / Grand Order.” Princess Connect was first released in Japan three years ago. The product launched in China in April last year and globally in January 2021.
