Tho Nguyen’s real name is Nguyen Hong Tho (born in 1992), currently living and working in Binh Duong. The famous female YouTuber attracts a significant following across various social media platforms, boasting a fan page with nearly 400,000 likes, a YouTube channel with over 8.7 million subscribers, and nearly 950,000 followers on TikTok. However, her fame has been accompanied by controversy, and Tho Nguyen has often found herself in distress due to online boycotts and criticism from the community.

Once dubbed “the goddess,” her video content was labeled 18+
Three years ago, a clip from Tho Nguyen’s video titled “Making Gelli Baff Bath” was criticized for having inappropriate sounds unsuitable for children, leading the online community to label her as “the goddess.” At that time, thousands of rude and insulting comments flooded in, even curses that significantly impacted Tho Nguyen’s life.
The production team clarified that the female YouTuber screamed because of a mouse during the filming, which was entirely normal, blaming the parents’ associations: “However, many adults think this video is unsuitable for children, I wonder what they associated with; sister Tho does not dress inappropriately, does not show skin, does not curse or use foul language; perhaps adults have associated it with some terrible imagery…”
Tho Nguyen also shared online that she feels sad because some people use her videos to distort and edit them for cheap views.
Dangerous Content
Some time later, Tho Nguyen’s channel continued to receive criticism for producing dangerous video segments, even though she warned that viewers should not replicate her actions, it still caused parents to be upset for being unsuitable for children.
With experiments such as: placing dry ice in a sealed bottle causing an explosion; boiling beer and soda on the stove also produced similar situations… However, Tho Nguyen’s attitude in those videos was enthusiastic and excited, making the prior warnings seem ineffective, especially for a young audience who may not be able to distinguish levels of danger.
After the strong reactions from netizens, these videos were removed from YouTube.
Asking for good study vibes from the Kumathong doll
The most recent unpleasant incident for this female YouTuber was when Tho Nguyen created a short clip hugging a doll called Kumathong, asking for good study vibes for students, sparking controversy in the online community.
She explained that this was merely a comedic entertainment product for viewers, but netizens still felt this was an excuse for creating unfiltered content, promoting distorted ideas.

Unlike previous times, this boycott seems to weigh heavily on her, leading to a breakdown, with reports of her needing hospitalization due to the overwhelming pressure. She herself confirmed that this would be her last video and the end of her video-making career.
Previously, speaking about her passion for making videos, she shared: “If I were to do YouTube for myself, I would have quit a long time ago because I have the financial capability and my university degree could allow me to do many other jobs. But I think that if we have the ability to earn money, why not do that to pay taxes, support the children and the elderly. But from now on, I will not do it anymore, I will take a break, please do not boycott me, I will stop on my own.”
No one knows how long it will take for Tho Nguyen to recover from this shock.
