The number of esports disciplines where Vietnamese players have qualified for international competitions is currently limited, and the disciplines where they reach the later stages or finals are even rarer. Therefore, the fact that Crossfire has unfortunately missed the international stage in recent years is a regrettable loss. The efforts of the publisher VTC Online to bring the national representative team back to the Crossfire World Finals is an important step in restoring and enhancing the status of professional Vietnamese gamers on the global Crossfire power rankings.
With careful preparations starting from early 2021, publisher VTC Online announced that CFEL Vietnam will officially commence this year and Vietnam will participate in the international CF Esports arena organized by Smilegate Entertainment. This will bring the Crossfire community in Vietnam back stronger and foster fierce competition in the international Crossfire esports arena.

After discussions between both parties, publisher VTC Online and Smilegate Entertainment agreed on the plan to organize domestic tournaments to select teams. The result led to the consensus to operate the domestic tournament (Vietnam CFEL).
The specific schedule proposed by publisher VTC Online is as follows:
– April: CFVN Championship Season 1 selects 8 teams to participate in CFEL 2021 (Bomb Plant).
– May-June: Vietnam CFEL 2021 Season 1 (Bomb Plant).
– August-September: Vietnam CFEL 2021 Season 2 (Bomb Plant).
– October: CFVN Championship Season 2 selects the representative team to participate in the CFS 2021 Finals (Bomb Plant).
– December: CFS 2021 Finals (Bomb Plant).

The CFVN Championship will be held over 2 seasons as each season will serve as the official qualifying tournament for Vietnam CFEL 2021 Season 1 and the CFS 2021 Grand Finals.
CFVN Championship Season 1 will be the qualifying tournament to select representatives for CFEL 2021 Vietnam Season 1, and CFVN Championship Season 2 will be the official qualifying tournament leading to the CFS 2021 Grand Finals.
In addition, there will be more online international tournaments planned during the break between the two seasons of CFEL Vietnam 2021.

The new domestic tournaments will continue to be an opportunity for new names to assert themselves, for strong teams to reaffirm their rivalry, and a test of strength to maintain the top position for the reigning champions. Each tournament will be a new opportunity to change the status of professional teams and also a chance to build the reputation of new teams eager to “go pro”.
