The Mi 11 is the latest premium smartphone launched by Xiaomi at the end of last year. This device is integrated with many outstanding technologies such as the Snapdragon 888 chip, a 6.8 inch 2K 120Hz display, a 108MP camera, and 55W fast charging… Many stores in Vietnam require users to pay extra if they want a charger.

However, another aspect that users are very concerned about regarding the Mi 11 is the fact that Xiaomi has eliminated the charger included with the device, similar to what Apple did with the iPhone 12. The reason provided by Xiaomi is that most users already have chargers, and removing the charger from the Mi 11 is a move aimed at “protecting the environment.”
Despite this, to avoid negative reactions from users, Xiaomi has decided to offer the charger for free if users need it. By default, the Mi 11 does not come with a charger, but users have the option to choose a version that includes a separate packaged GaN 55W charger at no extra cost.

However, in Vietnam, buyers of the Mi 11 do not have this option. Instead, they will have to pay a certain amount (around 300,000 to 400,000 VND) if they want to own the charger. In other words, users will have to “protect the environment” when purchasing the Xiaomi Mi 11 on the grey market.

Sharing with us, the owner of a Xiaomi phone store in Hanoi said that the fact that Xiaomi offers the charger for free with the Mi 11 is true. However, when it arrives in Vietnam, in order to create a pricing advantage over competitors or increase profits, store owners will separate the charger and sell it separately.
“Instead of thinking negatively that the charger was cut off, users can think more positively that stores are giving them the choice. If they do not take the charger, users will enjoy a better price,” the store owner shared.

Currently, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is being sold on the grey market for about 16 million VND, which is 1.5 million VND higher than the listed price. This is a common situation for most Xiaomi products when they first arrive in Vietnam, due to the relatively limited supply of Xiaomi at the time of the product’s launch.
According to forecasts, the price of the Mi 11 will be difficult to decrease at least from now until after the Lunar New Year due to high demand from users and difficulties in transporting goods during this period. Rumor has it that after the Lunar New Year, Xiaomi will launch a more advanced version of the Mi 11, the Mi 11 Pro, which is also a significant factor directly affecting the price of the Mi 11.
