After the loss to the U23 Democratic People’s Republic of Korea yesterday, it’s safe to say that not only fans but even the players and Coach Park Hang-seo felt quite sad and regretful. However, the focal point remains the goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng – who made a direct mistake in yesterday’s match. His reaction after the match also drew special attention. While Coach Park Hang-seo and the goal scorer Tiến Linh apologized to the fans during the match, Bùi Tiến Dũng – who is currently under heavy attack from the online community – chose to write a heartfelt letter instead.

This wouldn’t be noteworthy if a comment from a Facebook account thought to be Bùi Tiến Dũng’s representative hadn’t appeared below the post, stating: “Uncle is very glad to not find the word ‘sorry’ in these statuses. Stand up, hold your head high, and move on“.

However, this seemed to further infuriate fans, leading to a continuous stream of critical comments regarding this thought process.

Following this, the online community also expressed extreme frustration over a comment from another Facebook user, who is thought to frequently be seen alongside the U23 Vietnam team. Everything began when this “sister” brought up the glorious memories at Changzhou. However, it seems this only added to the community’s frustration, with some opinions suggesting that the heartfelt letter was no longer something Bùi Tiến Dũng personally wrote on Facebook.
