Accepting challenges to earn donation money from streamers is no longer a strange story for many. In fact, there are plenty of guys and girls who are willing to perform bizarre and controversial acts, all for the sake of the donation money they receive. However, the story of Kang-pae here is entirely different. There were no challenges proposed by viewers, but this streamer boldly performed an act that many immediately likened to “playing victim”.

In the video, Kim Kang-pae declared that he would keep his promise to the viewers from the previous episode. The evidence was that he moved to a path beside a river still covered with layers of unmelted ice. While the viewers were still in shock, the streamer suddenly shocked everyone by removing all his warm clothes and stepping into the freezing river. It was reported that the weather in Seoul that day was around -6 degrees Celsius, with temperatures potentially dropping to -3.

Even more surprising was Kang-pae’s claim that he would not step out until he received enough 10,000 star balloons (the donation currency on AfreecaTV, worth about 20 million VND). However, the reaction from the viewers left the streamer quite disappointed. Specifically, after 6 minutes of being in the water, despite continuously calling for support, the number of star balloons was only at 2,000, about 10% of his goal. And it seemed that out of sympathy for the streamer enduring the cold, a kind fan sent an additional 4,000 star balloons to show support.

Eventually, the amount of donations reached the figure Kang-pae desired. However, at this point, the male streamer changed his tune. He claimed that 10,000 star balloons, or 20 million VND, was too little and wanted to double what he would receive. With insatiable greed, the streamer declared that he would not come ashore unless he received 40 million VND in donations. Of course, this amount was still far from sufficient, and fortunately, another colleague of the streamer “saved him” by sending balloons, helping Kang-pae avoid breaking his promise.

Overall, Kang-pae was in the water for 12 minutes. When he finally came ashore, he started showing symptoms like a pale face and shivering. Luckily, there were no serious health issues reported.
