Greed has always been one of the main causes leading to crimes, especially fraud. However, in the case of the young man Takashi Miyagawa below, it’s hard to say whether it should be called greed or not. Because while others commit fraud for money and valuable items, what Takashi deceived others for was simply birthday gifts and affection.
Recently, netizens were abuzz with the story of Takashi Miyagawa, who was accused of fraud. It is known that he is a 39-year-old part-time employee, with no permanent address, currently living in Osaka. This young man was arrested for deceiving 35 women, pretending to have serious relationships with them. What’s more, Takashi lied to each woman about his birthday, ensuring that he would always receive birthday gifts throughout the year.

According to police sources, Takashi’s birthday is on November 13. However, he told a 47-year-old woman that his birthday was February 22. With another “girlfriend,” he changed his birthday again, claiming it was in July, April, and overall, the 35 women deceived by Takashi would have different birthdays for him. The gifts he received were not particularly valuable, with the most expensive being a suit worth about 30,000 yen (around 6 million VND). But when the total value of the gifts is summed up, it still amounts to a significant figure worth considering. This is also the reason why Takashi is currently being detained on charges of fraud.

The police revealed that each time he met his “prey,” Miyagawa would use marketing tactics to sell bathroom products to meet his company’s KPIs. Not to mention, he always displayed a very serious attitude, ready to take responsibility for the “rest of the lives” of the women, which easily led them to fall into his trap. There were instances where Takashi even proactively “kissed” on the second meeting, even though the girl said she only wanted to do that with her future husband, and Takashi accepted that he would be that person. This shows just how much of a “ladies’ man” this young man truly is.

It is known that when arrested by the police, Takashi stated that he would not say anything until he met with his lawyer. Perhaps he himself did not think that he had committed fraud anymore.
