Akshan is currently a hot topic among the League of Legends community. However, a segment of Arena of Valor players is also very interested in this champion. Even before Akshan’s official release, there have been analyses suggesting that this champion shares similar ideas with at least one character from Arena of Valor.

Specifically, the name most frequently mentioned is Aoi from Arena of Valor. With Akshan’s Heroic Leap ability, this champion can shoot out a hook, attaching it to the first terrain it hits. Once the hook is attached, he can reactivate it to swing around that terrain in a specified direction, firing shots that deal physical damage to the nearest enemy. While swinging, he can reactivate it again to jump down in the specified direction and fire a final shot.

This ability is very similar to Aoi’s Dragon Claw skill in Arena of Valor. Aoi has been available to Arena of Valor players for quite some time, long before Akshan was introduced to the League of Legends community. Therefore, a section of Arena of Valor players believes that Akshan has “borrowed” the idea, even going so far as to claim that this champion has plagiarized Aoi from Arena of Valor.

Some players have even analyzed that Akshan’s skill set shares similarities with both Tulen and Elsu in Arena of Valor. This is not the first time the Arena of Valor community has accused a new champion from League of Legends of copying ideas from their game. Remember when Yone was first released? Arena of Valor players quickly accused Yone of copying characters from their game. Specifically, one player posted in the Arena of Valor community group claiming that “The new champion from League of Legends unexpectedly resembles Yorn and Allain from Arena of Valor. League of Legends is falling apart.”

Of course, it cannot be definitively claimed that League of Legends plagiarized Arena of Valor, but Arena of Valor players always manage to find their justification to defend their beloved game. As for who copied whom, perhaps each person will have their own answer.
