With the Covid-19 pandemic evolving in a complex manner in many countries around the world, one of the best measures many people are taking right now is staying at home, limiting visits to crowded places to prevent the risk of infection. Of course, no one enjoys being cooped up in their apartment day in and day out, except for the “boss” dogs – humanity’s loyal companions. Now, the whole family is always at home, and the atmosphere is lively, so how could the “boss” not be happy?
One of the signs that your dog is extremely happy and excited is when they wag their tail continuously; the more joyful they are, the faster the wagging. However, too much of a good thing can be harmful, as there have been many cases of tail sprains just from wagging too much in excitement when their owner is home.

Recently, user Emma Smith, currently living in Essex, England, shared this funny story on Twitter: “My dog is so happy that everyone is in lockdown at home that its tail just stopped working. After taking him to the vet, the doctor concluded that he sprained it just from wagging too much.”
Emma’s post quickly attracted attention from the online community with 1 million likes and nearly 140,000 retweets. Most netizens expressed similar feelings, unsure whether to react with a sad or laughing emoji.
A day later, Emma posted another video of Rolo – her poor dog, with the caption: “I can’t believe something so funny happened. Thank you everyone for your concern; he has taken painkillers, and the vet said he’ll be fine in about a week. Right now it’s only the second day, but he seems very cheerful. His tail can wag slightly from side to side, but it doesn’t have the energy to perk up anymore.” This video also quickly garnered 1 million views on Twitter.
The online community also took the opportunity of Rolo’s rare incident to share their own funny stories about their pets.
