Scams have existed since the early days of the online scene in Vietnam. They have always accompanied the Vietnamese gaming market from its inception to the present day. Regardless of the platform or game, there will always be many malicious individuals waiting to scam and take advantage of the hard work of others, or exploit naive gamers for their own benefit.

In fact, the scams in Arena of Valor specifically and other online games generally share similar patterns and often lack any new tricks. However, despite numerous warnings and many cases where players have fallen victim to blatant scams, many players still trust and follow the requests of scammers.

Two of the many scam tactics that are “as old as the earth” but still seem to ‘lead’ Arena of Valor players are the requests for people to like, share, and comment or click on a strange link, asking them to enter their account and password to receive rewards. This is certainly not a new form of scam, even quite old, but let’s look at the image below to see that this trick still proves effective for many Arena of Valor players.

Here is the evidence, just a fan page that looks similar to the official Arena of Valor fan page “official” along with a few seemingly attractive gifts, this post attracted over 3,400 reactions, 2,400 comments, and nearly 1,000 shares. Many Arena of Valor players think that they will definitely receive valuable gifts by following the steps above. But this will certainly never become a reality, and if they’re unlucky, they might even “lose their account” immediately if that account has blank information.

The second method does not require sharing a fan page or commenting at all; the scammers post directly in the official Arena of Valor group and call on players to click on a strange link, asking them to log in to receive gifts. By accessing this strange link, 99% gamers will lose their accounts or encounter unpleasant situations.

Perhaps, these players are young gamers – a very large segment of Arena of Valor, who are easily scammed, exploited, and taken advantage of. We hope that nothing unfortunate happens to the players who “fell for” this scam event. Gamers should always be cautious and vigilant about the “schemes” of scamming and appropriation from many malicious individuals in cyberspace before facing an “unfortunate” outcome for themselves.
