If we say Shroud is one of the richest “gamers” in the world, no one would dare to disagree. Especially, it’s not just the FPS games where Shroud is known as a genius in every game, but recently, his biggest passion has been World of Warcraft – a grinding game. In fact, Shroud even ignored the calls from fans, ready to lose thousands of subscribers by only streaming World of Warcraft for an extended period. But with his recent money-burning stunt, just to make it in time for boss hunting in this game, everyone sees just how addicted Shroud is.

Specifically, during his recent trip from Las Vegas back home to LA, Shroud discussed with his close friend Justin and decided to use a private jet to return, despite the fact that it could be very expensive for himself: “You know, the only reason I want to use a private jet is to make it in time for the World of Warcraft Raid. There are no other flights that meet this requirement, except for renting a private jet. If I took a regular flight, it would be cheaper, but I wouldn’t make it in time for the BWL (Blackwing Lair – a raid in World of Warcraft) launch“.

For those who may not know, Raids are a type of dungeon designed as a new activity for characters who have reached maximum level, and it’s the only way for players like Shroud to increase their character’s power with necessary gear and rewards after battling bosses. That’s why our streamer decided to spend $13,000, about 300 million VND, just to rent a private jet for himself.

According to Shroud, a one-hour flight on a private jet costs about $6,500. The trip from Las Vegas to LA takes two hours, therefore the $13,000 is what he had to pay. It’s almost 10 times the $1,500 cost of a regular plane ticket, but for Shroud, it’s worth it to play the game and hunt bosses on time. It hurts his wallet a bit, but he has no regrets because missing a boss is simply not an option.
