The Arena of Valor gaming community and Wild Rift players never stops “causing drama“, ever since it was announced that Wild Rift would be released in 2020. Arena of Valor players, of course, have reason to worry that their game’s position might be threatened if Wild Rift launches this year.

Occasionally, players from both communities a drama appears to discuss and throw shade at each other. Recently, a moderator from the Wild Rift group posted a controversial image, claiming that the skin Samurai Huyền Thoại of Ryoma is a copy of Yasuo’s visuals, a famous champion in League of Legends and soon in Wild Rift.

Saying that Yasuo is one of the most famous champions in League of Legends is not incorrect. His fame is such that Vietnamese players refer to him as “Đấng,” meaning Yasuo is in some way “not an ordinary person”. Because of this, many players might have misunderstood Yasuo’s excessive influence.
Yasuo’s character is described very similarly to Musashi – the greatest swordsman in Japanese history. With a battle-worn face, a ponytail, and a fighting style, Yasuo closely resembles Musashi’s Niten Ichi-ryū martial arts.

One player remarked, “You guys should know that Yasuo was created based on the model of Miyamoto Musashi, the swordsman, or whatever from Japan. So not Yasuo is the original model, so don’t compare it like that, or you’ll have other gaming communities judging us.”
Of course, whether Arena of Valor has copied Yasuo’s idea or not is still uncertain. It is known that many players are quite tired of the comparisons that lead to drama like this as they await Wild Rift.

Another player commented rather harshly, stating, “Actually, it’s not copying anyone, it’s just that LOL fans take it personally when a samurai character looks like anyone. It’s like each Yasuo has a shape like that, if you like it, click on the samurai appearance and explore it. I really feel ashamed for that.”
Perhaps, the rivalry between Arena of Valor and Wild Rift gamers will continue like this until both communities feel exhausted and stop in the future. When Wild Rift officially launches, we’ll see how the situation unfolds.
