Specifically, in a discussion with a reporter from Tien Phong, Mr. Khong Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi CDC, stated that immediately after receiving information about the COVID-19 case in Hai Duong related to Hanoi, the city’s functional units began to verify and review the related cases.
“So far, 24 F1 cases of the patient in Hai Duong have been verified. The first test results are all negative,” Mr. Tuan said.
According to Mr. Tuan, the city’s functional units will continue to review and verify any related cases to the Hai Duong patient if there are any emerging situations.
Previously, as reported, one case involved a citizen from Hung Dao Commune (Chi Linh, Hai Duong) who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 after returning from Japan.
According to information from the Hai Duong authorities, Ms. G. works at POYUN Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. in the Cong Hoa Industrial Zone, Cong Hoa Ward (Chi Linh). Previously, Ms. G. studied Japanese in Hanoi. From around August 2020 to now, she has been working at the company.
On January 15, after receiving a notification to work in Japan, Ms. G. went to Hanoi to complete her exit procedures and underwent SARS-CoV-2 screening at Thang Long Hospital, receiving a negative result. After that, she returned home and organized a farewell party.
On January 17, Ms. G. transited through Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) to Singapore, and then went to Japan. In Japan, Ms. G. was tested for SARS-CoV-2, with a positive result for the variant strain from the UK.
Related to the case detected in Japan, the Ministry of Health also recently announced patient 1552, a 34-year-old female, Vietnamese nationality, occupation: worker at POYUN Co., Ltd., residing in Kim Dien, Hung Dao Commune, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province.
The patient had close contact with a female patient who tested positive after entering Osaka (Japan). Currently, the patient is being isolated and treated at the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital in Dong Anh.
According to Hai Duong authorities, patient 1552 is the sister-in-law of Ms. N.T.G (the person confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Japan), working in the Cutting Department at POYUN Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd., and used to commute to work by motorbike with Ms. G.
On the evening of January 15, patient 1552 attended a farewell party at the home of patient N.T.G. On the morning of January 16, patient 1552 showed symptoms of headache and chills, self-medicated but still went to work. On the morning of January 17, the patient attended a housewarming party at the home of Ms. H., her sister-in-law in Mat Son, Chi Minh (Chi Linh). On the afternoon of January 23, noticing symptoms of cough, chest tightness, and difficulty breathing, the patient requested a day off and went to the Côn Sơn General Clinic from 4:10 PM to 4:50 PM. On the morning of January 24, the patient went to Sao Do Market to buy clothes but could not remember the name of the shop owner. On the afternoon of January 26, the patient went to buy incense supplies at Dung – Mai’s shop at the Nẫm intersection, Kim Dien, Hung Dao. On other days, the patient went to work, interacted with staff and management in the Cutting Department, and had close contact with three family members including her mother-in-law and two children.
