On the morning of October 11 (Vietnam time), just before the first matches of the Main Event group stage at Worlds 2021, all teams were ready and in peak condition. However, for Fnatic and specifically for player Upset, things were not so smooth. Right before the crucial group stage matches, FNC unexpectedly announced that they would lose player Upset due to a “serious family issue” until the end of the group stage at this year’s Worlds.
This was truly disappointing news for FNC fans and the European League of Legends community, as well as the entire League of Legends community. Upset is an incredibly talented player with immense determination every time he steps onto the battlefield. However, ironically, he has never had the opportunity to compete at Worlds despite having played professionally for 5 years.
However, while everyone expressed concern for Upset’s situation and hoped he could resolve his family issues soon, Gen.G Esports streamer Nemesis raised questions, if not to say he was mocking the reason of “serious family issue” in FNC’s announcement. According to the streamer, Upset and FNC definitely had other issues, and the family reason was just a facade.

However, instead of receiving agreement, many forums and the League of Legends community believe that Nemesis has been too petty, holding grudges and projecting his disdain for his former team onto Upset, even though throughout their careers, Nemesis and Upset have had no interaction or conflict, and in fact, Nemesis had left FNC long before Upset joined.
Not to mention, as mentioned above, Upset is known for his high determination and would not for any reason skip important matches, especially when the player born in 1999 has never had the chance to play at Worlds. In the past, even when he was ill, Upset still made an effort to compete, so many argue that if it were not a genuinely serious issue, Upset would definitely not skip the tournament like that.

And Veteran – a streamer from FNC also had to speak out about Nemesis’s remarks.

It can be said that regardless of the actual reason for Upset’s departure from the tournament, it is still a personal matter for the player and FNC. Opinions surrounding it should only be considered as references, and for influential figures like Nemesis, he must be more careful with his statements to avoid impacting unrelated individuals and teams.
