Recently, on his personal Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg – CEO of Meta announced that Messenger has added a feature that notifies users when a conversation is being screenshotted. This has sparked a lot of debates and mixed opinions across many online forums. In Vietnam, this topic has garnered significant attention since Facebook and Messenger are undoubtedly two of the most popular apps on our phones and PCs.

Specifically, according to Mark’s statement, “A new update has been made for end-to-end encrypted chats on Messenger. With this new feature, you will receive a notification if someone takes a screenshot of a message before it disappears. We are also adding GIFs, stickers, and reactions to encrypted conversations.” And according to the announcement from Meta – Facebook’s parent company, the screenshot notification feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks. This feature applies to self-destructing messages in secret chat mode. As the name suggests, when someone in the chat takes a screenshot, a notification will be displayed in the chat frame to inform everyone of that action.

The habit of taking screenshots of chat conversations and sharing them is certainly not unfamiliar to Messenger users in Vietnam. With this feature being introduced, many users will be surprised by the humorous reactions from Vietnamese netizens. It turns out, there are countless other ways to cope with this.

Specifically, a multitude of alternative methods have been suggested. From not updating to the new Messenger version to using a different phone to take screenshots or screen recordings, all of these have left everyone in awe of the creativity of Vietnamese users.
