Workers in Japan are often depicted as early risers who work late, navigating the crowded trains typical of Tokyo. However, the story that follows is quite different.
To promote the company’s image, the Chairman and CEO personally created funny dances and skits on TikTok, even winning awards for setting trends on social media.
Mr. Daisuke Sakurai – Chairman of Daikyo Security – stated: “The number one reason we established our TikTok channel was back in 2018 when we couldn’t hire anyone. 99 companies in the security sector were competing for just one employee. An aging population has made young people reluctant to take on such jobs. We considered Twitter, YouTube, and many options, but there was too much content on those platforms. And TikTok was the only social media that hadn’t been saturated yet.”
No longer the image of big-bellied bosses, they aren’t afraid to dance along to music or become cartoon characters. The message from these videos is simple: to break away from the rigid hierarchies typical of Japanese companies and unleash human energy.
Mr. Tomohiko Kojima – CEO of Daikyo Security – believes: “As the videos gained more interaction, I started to be recognized on the streets. I hope this trend becomes more popular and helps create a new brand image for security work, which has always been viewed as tough, dangerous, and lowly.”
The company’s success has been acknowledged with a YouTube Silver Play Button and recognition as a trendsetter on the video-sharing app TikTok.
